Alassane Ndao, who was arrested after being detained last December on charges of "betting and match-fixing," appeared before a judge in Istanbul today. The footballer, who faces up to 13 years in prison, was released following the first hearing.
In the indictment prepared by the prosecutor's office, it was alleged that Ndao placed bets on the Beşiktaş-Konyaspor match played on October 20, 2024. In his statement, Ndao denied these allegations, stating that his betting account was used by third parties without his knowledge.
The court panel decided to release Ndao after the time he spent in custody. The trial was adjourned until June 10, 2026.
The PFDK had previously handed Ndao a 12-month ban from football-related activities in recent months. Following the investigation processes, Konyaspor had also terminated the player's contract.
