Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç announced the news that Fenerbahçe fans were eagerly awaiting regarding Vargas during the February Ordinary High Council Meeting.
In his statement, Koç said, "I am announcing that Melissa Vargas will return to the team, thanks to the efforts of the Volleyball Federation and our executives, along with a little push from Vargas's management company. The licensing procedures have been completed."
Ali Koç also added, "She is still injured and has only just started playing again. Hopefully, she will contribute to us in March and April. This transfer came at a cost. I would like to thank our sponsors who supported us."
Finally, Fenerbahçe Volleyball announced Vargas's return to the team by saying, "Melissa Vargas is in Istanbul!"
