Athlete suffers fatal heart attack during javelin match
During a javelin match held in Erzurum, 45-year-old athlete Adem Geyik lost his life after suffering a heart attack while on horseback.

A sad incident occurred during a friendly match between the Uzunyayla Equestrian Sports Club and the Üç Hilal Equestrian Sports Club in the Uzunyayla neighborhood of Erzurum's Yakutiye district.
In the second half of the match, Uzunyayla Equestrian Sports Club player Adem Geyik suddenly fell ill while on horseback and collapsed to the ground. Geyik, who remained motionless at the scene, was taken by villagers to be transported to the hospital and was handed over to a 112 Emergency Health team on the way.
Despite all interventions at the Atatürk University Research Hospital, Adem Geyik could not be saved. Geyik, who was determined to have suffered a heart attack, had his body sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death.
Known for his passion for the sport of javelin and a well-liked figure in his community, moments from a video where Adem Geyik had previously gathered with friends drew attention, in which the person recording said, "Let me film you and keep it as a memory. They will remember you when you die."
