Australia withdraws from 2034 FIFA World Cup bid
With Australia's decision to withdraw from hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup, Saudi Arabia has become the only country to have submitted a bid.

In a statement released by Football Australia, it was stated, "Having taken all factors into consideration, we have reached the decision not to bid for the 2034 World Cup."
With only hours remaining before the deadline for hosting bids for the tournament, Australia's decision leaves Saudi Arabia as the sole country to have expressed interest in organizing the 2034 World Cup.
The Turkish Football Federation, which will co-host the 2032 European Football Championship (EURO 2032) with Italy, had announced on October 9 that it would support Saudi Arabia, which had submitted its official bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
Saudi Arabia, which has made a name for itself in recent years with its investments in football and by attracting well-known international stars to its league, had also submitted a bid to host the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup. Saudi Arabia is also competing against Australia in the process to host that tournament.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The 2030 World Cup, which will feature one match each in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay, will be hosted by Portugal, Spain, and Morocco.
