Stating that some news and comments in the public domain do not reflect the truth, Kocaman expressed that he felt the need to make a statement regarding the last month.
In his statement, Kocaman included the following remarks:
"Following some misleading news and comments in the public domain regarding the last month, I felt the need to make a statement. In this process, which began on Friday, May 1, 2026, upon the invitation of Mr. Aziz Yıldırım, and of which I was not an official stakeholder afterward; I had a comprehensive, intensive, and harmonious collaboration with Mr. Oğuz Çetin on Fenerbahçe's season planning, transfer preferences, and current player balance."

Stating that the work carried out was continuing at the technical staff evaluation stage, Aykut Kocaman noted that an unexpected development occurred while the search for common ground was ongoing.
In the continuation of his statement, Kocaman used the following words:
"However, while our search for common ground was continuing during the final technical staff evaluation, communication was suddenly cut off after a phone call I had with Oğuz Çetin on Tuesday night, June 16, at 23:58, which we ended with well wishes. The next day, news that the Fenerbahçe Board of Directors had made a choice was reflected in the public domain through the media, and I was informed in this way."

Reminding that he had previously stated that managements play a decisive role in success or failure at Fenerbahçe, the experienced coach emphasized that the decisions made by managements shape the future of the club.
Kocaman made the following assessment:
"As I have stated on various occasions before, 'The biggest share in success and failure in a sports club belongs to the managements. Because everything is shaped by their decisions and preferences.'
