Ahead of the extraordinary elective general assembly at Fenerbahçe Sports Club, allegations that presidential candidate Hakan Safi had proposed that Aziz Yıldırım withdraw from the race and instead serve as an elder statesman for the club have occupied the agenda. In response to these rumors, Aziz Yıldırım made a clear statement, demonstrating his determination for the election.
Yıldırım, speaking at a breakfast organized by the Maltepe Fenerbahçeliler Association, stood against the withdrawal suggestions that have caused gossip within the club.
"I do not want to be an elder statesman of Fenerbahçe; I am a man of action. My actions are there for all to see. Let no one think that I am just seeking the presidency. I have served as president, I have been to prison. In 2018, the congress members made a decision, and I respect that. It has been 8 years since I left, but Fenerbahçe cannot achieve success. They say we got 99 points, but did we become champions?" he stated.
Furthermore, stating that he does not want conflict within the club, Yıldırım said, "We do not want conflict, we do not want to wage war against people at any point. But if they try to take our rights, we will fight every kind of battle. I am coming with belief. I will stop this bleeding, and I will do it under any circumstances."
