The 2026 nominees for the Ballon d'Or, awarded to the best player of the year in football, have been announced. For the award, which has been presented by France Football magazine since 1956, 30 players were included in the nomination list this year.
In the announcement made on the Ballon d'Or's social media account, the squad of Paris Saint-Germain, which won the UEFA Champions League, drew attention. From the French team, in addition to the reigning holder of the award Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Achraf Hakimi, Vitinha, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, Joao Neves, Willian Pacho, and Fabian Ruiz were included on the list.
With Ferran Torres, who was transferred from Barcelona, also being shown among the PSG-linked nominees, the number of players from the Paris representative on the list reached 10.
Among the nominees is Lionel Messi, who has won the Ballon d'Or 8 times. Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid; Erling Haaland from Manchester City; Lamine Yamal from Barcelona, and Lautaro Martinez from Inter are also among the prominent names on the list.
