Barış Alper Yılmaz reveals: 'I want to play in Europe'

Galatasaray star player Barış Alper Yılmaz made important statements about his future following the championship.

Galatasaray's successful footballer Barış Alper Yılmaz spoke to TRT Spor following his team's championship celebrations.

Taking a jab at Fenerbahçe, Yılmaz said, "I have been here for four years and have experienced three championships. As the biggest club in Turkey, we have earned our fifth star."

'I WANT TO PLAY IN EUROPE'

Evaluating his own performance, Yılmaz stated, "I increase my performance every season, but I did not reach my goal tally this year." He also expressed his desire to play in Europe, adding, "I want to play in Europe and I would like to represent Galatasaray in the best way possible."

'I HOPE HE STAYS WITH US'

Speaking about his teammate Victor Osimhen, Yılmaz said, "Osimhen is a great player and he is happy here. I hope he stays with us." Praising his relationship with head coach Okan Buruk, Yılmaz added, "Coach Okan is very special to me."

Barış Alper Yılmaz noted that he has adapted to Vincenzo Montella's system in the national team, stating, "I play as a shadow striker in the national team, and I think we are successful in this system." He also congratulated Hakan Çalhanoğlu on his success in the Champions League, saying, "Hakan is making us proud, I hope he becomes the champion."

Finally, touching on their Champions League goals, Yılmaz said, "We were unlucky in Europe, but we aim to be successful in both the league and the Champions League next season."
