Barış Göktürk announces his candidacy for Fenerbahçe presidency

In his statement announcing his candidacy, Göktürk used the following expressions:

"Instead of temporary championships that come only during periods of money and abundance, we must focus on lasting success. We have been champions 8 times in the last 40 years. I do not think this suits Fenerbahçe.

Tyson Gay broke a world record, but he is not remembered because he finished second behind Usain Bolt. Milorad Cavic finished just one hundredth of a second behind Michael Phelps, but no one remembers his name. History is ruthless; it does not remember the runners-up. 

Transfers made with astronomical fees, exaggerated salaries, and in the end, a Fenerbahçe that still cannot become champion... I am tired of watching the same movie over and over."
