Beşiktaş commemorates 'Baba Hakkı': 'A name who won the affection of sports fans'

Hakkı Yeten, who played for Beşiktaş between 1931 and 1948 and remains one of the club's most unforgettable figures, passed away on April 16, 1989.
In a statement released by the black-and-white club, the following words were used: "We respectfully and mercifully commemorate 'Baba' Hakkı Yeten, one of the symbolic figures of our community, on the 35th anniversary of his passing. Born in Vodina on December 3, 1910, brought to our club by the founder of our football branch, Ahmet Şerafettin Bey, having played a part in our twenty-two championships during the seventeen years he wore our jersey, having served as president for three terms after retiring from football, and having won the affection and appreciation of all sports fans with his gentlemanly personality."
