In the 3rd week of the Volleyball Sultanlar League, Beşiktaş defeated Bahçelievler Belediyespor 3-1 at home.
Beşiktaş made a post titled 'Mandatory clarification' regarding the incidents that took place during the match.
The following statements were included in the post made on the official social media account of the Black and White club:
"There is no place for bullying, arrogance, and profanity in sports arenas! We strongly condemn the aggressive and unsportsmanlike attitude of the Bahçelievler Mayor and his bodyguards, who arrived at the arena during the second set of the match played between our Beşiktaş Women's Volleyball Team and the Bahçelievler Municipality Women's Volleyball Team.
We condemn the Bahçelievler Mayor and his bodyguards, who, upon entering the arena, questioned with great arrogance why they were not met at the door in the protocol tribune, then escalated the environment with their provocative and threatening attitudes and rude behavior toward our executives, used profanity, and caused our executives to be injured as a result of their bodyguards' intervention.
Unfortunately, they have strayed from sports ethics and morality with these boorish behaviors in an environment where women and children were present as spectators. Due to the chaos they caused, the match was halted for approximately 40 minutes. There is no place for profanity, bullying, or insults in sports arenas under any circumstances. We hereby inform the public that we will file the necessary complaints with the Turkish Volleyball Federation regarding the attack that took place."
