Beşiktaş has announced that a payment of 2 million 728 thousand 838 euros has been made for its former player Victor Ruiz.
The black-and-white club stated that this payment has prevented a potential transfer ban.
Beşiktaş's statement regarding the transfer is as follows:
"Within the framework of the contract signed between our club and professional football player Victor Ruiz Torre on August 7, 2019, with an expiration date of May 31, 2022, the player unilaterally terminated his contract on July 15, 2020, due to the non-payment of his salary amounting to 489 thousand Euros on time.
As disclosed by our company to the KAP on 22.12.2023, according to the decision rendered by the Court of Arbitration for Sport ("CAS") on December 20, 2023, regarding the dispute between the parties, it was decided that our company shall pay Victor Ruiz Torre the outstanding salary and termination compensation with 5% annual interest.
In this regard, our club;
* Has paid 270,000 EUROS as part of the player's outstanding receivables, along with 5% annual interest accrued from the due dates to the payment date,
* Has paid 2,048,538.93 EUROS as part of the termination compensation, along with 5% annual interest accrued on this compensation amount from July 22, 2020, to the payment date,
* Along with 6,000 CHF for legal costs; has closed the dispute file by paying a total of 2,728,838 EUROS and has prevented a potential transfer ban."
