Beşiktaş makes referee call to TFF ahead of Turkish Cup final
Beşiktaş Vice President Onur Göçmez stated that they are focused on the cup final against Trabzonspor on May 23, saying, "We will fight fairly and we will win. Shoulder to shoulder, we will bring that cup to our museum."

The Black and Whites' vice president Onur Göçmez, second president Hüseyin Yücel, and football branch manager Feyyaz Uçar made statements to the press following the match against Atakaş Hatayspor.
Stating that they strongly believe in winning the Turkish Cup, Onur Göçmez said, "We are on the side of playing fairly and winning with honor. We have sold nearly 40 thousand tickets. All tickets are sold out. We believe in the cup very much. Beşiktaş has never won a cup unfairly. We want to win the cup with our own merit. We expect beautiful football where the struggle of the teams, not the referee, is discussed. We have experienced many problems in the past due to referee errors. We were not successful in the league, but we reached the final in the cup with our own merit. We will fight and we will win fairly. Shoulder to shoulder, we will bring that cup to our museum."
Göçmez expressed that they expect the best-performing referees to be assigned to the cup final, stating, "We are constantly talking about the algorithm in referee assignments, but the result is manual. We do not believe in the algorithm. Let whatever is logical be done. There was no talk of a foreign referee. We trust every child raised by this country. Let them see what is there and blow the whistle accordingly. Let them be worthy of their mothers and fathers."
Stating that negotiations regarding the head coach are ongoing, Onur Göçmez said, "We are in talks with Jose Mourinho and other coaches. Everyone wants to come to Beşiktaş. Our goal right now is the cup. We are working on the head coach issue. Beşiktaş fans should be at ease."
The Black and Whites' second president, Hüseyin Yücel, also said that they expect the best-performing referees to be assigned to the cup final they will play against Trabzonspor.
Stating that they have experienced difficulties due to referee errors, Yücel said, "I hope the TFF will assign the best referees to the cup final. I think they will assign the best-performing referees."
Beşiktaş Football Branch Manager Feyyaz Uçar, who made a call to the TFF regarding the cup final, also stated, "We are playing in the final of the cup with our own merit. Our only expectation is that the TFF and the MHK do not cast a shadow over this match. This is our expectation. Everyone has a limit to their patience. At least let there be a fair competition in one lane and let the one who deserves it win."
