The 3rd ordinary meeting of the Beşiktaş Club Divan Board for 2024 was held at the ICEC Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar Congress and Exhibition Center-Rumeli Hall. The meeting was attended by Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı, board members, Divan Board President Tevfik Yamantürk, and members of the divan board.

In addition, former presidents Ahmet Nur Çebi and Hüseyin Yücel, as well as Mete Vardar, Kadir Kılıç, and Ekrem Keçoğlu, who served on the board during the Hasan Arat era, also attended the meeting.

HEAVY CRITICISM FROM YAMANTÜRK TOWARDS HASAN ARAT

Divan Board President Tevfik Yamantürk targeted former president Hasan Arat in his speech and made harsh criticisms. Yamantürk stated that Arat put the Beşiktaş community in a difficult position and pushed the club into an election process.

Saying, "You must know when to step away from the table; you should not be the person people pray will leave," Yamantürk said that Hasan Arat began working within the club two years ago and paved the way for the election process.

Yamantürk continued his words as follows:

"We experienced a Hasan Arat case. He started working two years ago and began attending meetings. He forced the community into an election by making counter-moves with steps I would never take. We went to the president of that period, Ahmet Nur Çebi, and said, 'Do not resign, Beşiktaş will be harmed.' But the process progressed differently."

Making a humorous comment, "12 coaches have worked since 2017. I asked artificial intelligence, and it told me, 'Go look for yourself,'" Yamantürk emphasized the instability at the club.

"Hasan Arat made inappropriate statements. He circulated old photos as if they were new. Your ego must remain behind the interests of the seat you occupy. If you cannot do this, do not aspire to these positions at all."

"We did not throw these in his face, but we made him feel them. We noticed he was embarrassed. A person should not have left such a bad legacy to his family."

''THERE IS A CONSENSUS ON GOING TO MASAK''

Claiming that some factions made attempts to have a trustee appointed to the club following Hasan Arat's departure, Yamantürk said that such events harm not only Beşiktaş but also Turkey.

"We have decided to go to MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board)," said Yamantürk, stating that the board of directors reached a consensus on this issue.

"The board members accepted this decision. Our president also supported it. If it were me, I wouldn't think twice, I would go tonight. Let those who did it worry."

"There are people in MASAK who serve the honorable Turkish state. A system must be established so that the Beşiktaş community does not face such events again."
