Beşiktaş, which left behind an inconsistent season in the Süper Lig, has concluded its search for a head coach. After Sergen Yalçın stepped down from his position and the black-and-white club appointed Önder Özen as football director, they have now ended the anticipation regarding their new head coach.
The management, which had been in talks with various candidates for some time, made its final decision in favor of Vincenzo Italiano. The 48-year-old Italian coach has reached a two-year agreement with Beşiktaş and is expected to arrive in Istanbul today.
Italiano, who is scheduled to land in Istanbul today at 15:00 along with a delegation that will include club president Serdal Adalı, is expected to sign the official contract shortly.
Vincenzo Italiano, who most recently served as the head of Serie A side Bologna, has left a significant mark on his career in Italy. The experienced coach, who led his team in 107 matches, recorded 46 wins, 29 draws, and 31 losses.
