Beşiktaş has announced that the decision has been made for the Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv match, previously announced to be played in Serbia, to be held in Istanbul.
A decision had been made for the match between the Beşiktaş Men's Basketball Team and the Israeli team Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv in the Eurocup to be played in Serbia due to security concerns.
Beşiktaş's efforts to have the match played in Istanbul have yielded results. In a statement on its social media account, Beşiktaş announced that the match will be played in Istanbul.
The following statement was included in the announcement made on the official social media account of the black-and-white club:
"The EuroLeague management, the organizer of the BKT EuroCup tournament in which our Beşiktaş Fibabanka Men's Basketball Team participates, had decided that the BKT EuroCup 3rd week match, which was planned to be played between our Beşiktaş Fibabanka Men's Basketball Team and Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv on Wednesday, October 9, at the BJK Fibabanka Sports Complex, would be played in Serbia.
In line with our club's initiatives, following the security guarantees provided by our government and the Turkish Basketball Federation to the EuroLeague management and the Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv club, the EuroLeague management has decided that the match will be played in Istanbul.
Beşiktaş Fibabanka - Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv will be played on Wednesday, October 9, at 20:00 at the BJK Fibabanka Sports Complex. We present this to the public and our fans."
