Beşiktaş closed its European chapter after being defeated 1-0 by the Swiss team Lausanne in the second leg of the UEFA Conference League Play-Off round. Immediately after the match, President Serdal Adalı called manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to an emergency meeting.

Following a meeting between Adalı and Solskjaer that lasted approximately half an hour, the decision to part ways was made.

In a written statement issued by the black-and-white club regarding the separation from Solskjaer, it was stated, "Our contract with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been terminated as a result of the decision taken at the board meeting held. Our President Serdal Adalı thanked Solskjaer for his services to date during the meeting held after the board session."

The Norwegian coach, who managed a total of 29 matches at the helm of Beşiktaş, recorded 15 wins, 5 draws, and 9 losses.
