Boca Juniors President Riquelme spoke to the press regarding the transfer process of Cristian Medina, who has occupied Fenerbahçe's transfer agenda for a long time.

In his statement to the Argentine media, Riquelme said, 'If a player receives an offer from Europe, our club responds to it. This is the new trend; players are trying to decide for themselves where they want to go.'

Addressing Medina's transfer, Riquelme added, 'If a player has a contract, that contract must be respected. They say, "The player has decided to leave." Because of the media, players think they own the clubs,' he stated.

MEDINA TO JOIN FENERBAHÇE IN THE WINTER

According to reports in the Turkish media, Boca Juniors and Fenerbahçe have reached an agreement for the transfer of the 22-year-old footballer for 15 million dollars plus a 20 percent share of his future sale. Medina is expected to join Fenerbahçe when the winter transfer window opens.

It is said that the yellow-navy team's head coach Jose Mourinho was also influential in the transfer process by being persistent. The Turkish media had written that the experienced coach specifically requested that Medina join the team.

The 22-year-old midfielder Medina has played 155 matches for Boca Juniors, the team he has been with since 2020, contributing 9 goals and 11 assists.
