Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan: Ali Koç called me with the arrogance of a 'mansion brat,' and I put him in his place

Fenerbahçe Club President Ali Koç called Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, who had said, "If you do not send Dominik Livakovic, Archie Brown, and Talisca to Boluspor within three business days, I will erect this lion in the Bolu town square and name it Ali Koç."

Providing the first information about the phone call, Fenerbahçe Board Member Sertaç Komsuoğlu accused Özcan of "making meaningless transfer requests from Fenerbahçe to stay on the agenda and trying to gain clout," and described his posts as "senseless."

Regarding his conversation with Koç, Özcan said, "Look here, Ali Koç. I am not the grandson of the industrialist Vehbi Koç; I am the grandson of a poor forest villager named Mehmet Özcan. Do not ever attempt to call and insult elected officials with the arrogance of a 'mansion brat' again. Because money doesn't work everywhere, and not every bird is meant to be eaten," he said. Özcan stated that for Koç, "He tried to lecture me with the courage he gets from his money, and he got put in his place." 

In a post on his X social media account, Özcan said, "Mr. Ali Koç, I bought the lion seen in the picture at the Bolu Fair. If you do not send Dominik Livakovic, Archie Brown, and Talisca to Boluspor within three business days, I will erect this lion in the Bolu town square and name it Ali Koç."

Following this, Ali Koç called Tanju Özcan. Fenerbahçe Board Member Sertaç Komsuoğlu announced the phone call.

In a statement on Twitter, Komsuoğlu said, "Our President gave the necessary response to Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, who is trying to gain clout by making meaningless transfer requests from Fenerbahçe to stay on the agenda, in a clear and direct manner during the phone call he had with him regarding his senseless social media posts."
