Burak Elmas responds to the Hakan Şükür question! 'Our views may differ, but...'

Former Galatasaray President Burak Elmas was a guest on journalist Balçiçek İlter’s YouTube channel.

Balçiçek İlter asked Burak Elmas a question regarding former footballer and FETÖ fugitive Hakan Şükür.

In response to İlter’s question, ‘How do you feel about Hakan Şükür? You know him very well,’ Elmas replied:

“I know him very well. I even served as his manager. Our views may differ, but I know that he provided great service to Galatasaray on the pitch, that he was a very good professional, a good Galatasaray supporter, and that he loved Galatasaray very much.

In the current political climate, while the names of many people who should be erased are still circulating, he—and not just him, but a few of our other players as well—is forced to act this way at the club. But as you said, everyone can make mistakes. Everyone has their truths and their mistakes; we all do. However, there is no harm in saying that he served the club and was an extremely good professional while doing so. He provided great services to Galatasaray.”
