Busenaz Sürmeneli wins gold medal at European Boxing Championships

National boxer Busenaz Sürmeneli won the gold medal at the 2026 European Boxing Championships held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.

Stepping into the ring on the final day of the event at the Asics Arena, Sürmeneli faced British athlete Chantelle Reid in the women's 70kg final. The national athlete won the bout, securing the European championship title.

Busenaz Sürmeneli, who holds one Olympic and three world championship titles in her career, achieved her second consecutive gold medal at the European Championships with this result.
