Can Uzun, who was not included in the 26-man final squad of the A National Team that will compete in the 2024 European Football Championship (EURO 2024), stated that he was disappointed.

Can Uzun made a statement on his social media account regarding his exclusion from the crescent-star team's EURO 2024 squad.

The 18-year-old forward, who scored 19 goals in all competitions last season for Nürnberg, a team in the German second division, said, "Unfortunately, I was left out of the final 26-man squad yesterday. After many positive discussions, I came with very different expectations. I chose Turkey with all my heart and I really wanted to play for my country in my first major tournament. After a strong season and good performances, not being in the squad now has really disappointed me a lot."

TARGET 2026

Emphasizing that he cannot understand the decision to exclude him from the squad but will respect it, Can Uzun noted the following:

"I cannot understand this decision, but I will respect it and now I will prepare intensively for the next season. My task from now on is to work harder, have a good season in the Bundesliga with my new club, and prove myself again. My biggest wish is for our national team to be successful in the European Championship. I wish the team all the best now and success for the European Championship. My time will come, and I will do everything in my power to be a part of and play in the 2026 World Cup. This is my goal. I will keep the promise I made to Turkey. As long as my heart beats: How happy is the one who says I am a Turk! I wish my country a successful European Championship! Come on Turkey."

Can Uzun wore the A National Team jersey for the first time in the friendly match played against Hungary on March 22.
