Caner Erkin's confession about Vitor Pereira years later! 'I snapped...'

Eyüpspor’s experienced left-back Caner Erkin answered questions from journalist Candaş Tolga Işık on the YouTube channel Asist Analiz.

The 35-year-old footballer made striking statements regarding his dialogue with Ali Koç during the arrival of Vitor Pereira at Fenerbahçe and his departure from Beşiktaş.

Ali Koç came and said, 'I'm bringing yours.' We didn't have a coach at the time; Emre Belözoğlu had left. Volkan Demirel was training the team. I asked, 'What do you mean by yours?' Vitor Pereira was there when I was excluded from the squad. The president said, 'I'm bringing him.'

I laughed because I had attacked the man. I was right in my own way. I told the president there was nothing on my end. I told him I had insulted the man, shouted, and yelled at him.

When I saw I wasn't going to play in the Galatasaray match, I snapped. I got very angry all of a sudden. If he had come and told me, it wouldn't have been a problem. He is the coach, I am the player. You don't have to play me, that's no problem at all. I said, 'Who are you? I have given everything here.'

When Ali Koç said, 'I'm bringing Vitor Pereira,' I laughed and said, 'Okay, there is no problem on my end, but if there is on his...' He said, 'You will welcome him,' because I was the team captain. I wanted to stay at Beşiktaş, but I felt there was an inexplicable situation regarding me with coach Sergen. I hadn't done anything. President Ahmet Nur Çebi's father loved me very much. He had said, 'If Caner leaves, I will disown you. He should finish his football career at Beşiktaş.'
