Spanish racket Carlos Alcaraz has announced his withdrawal from the Monte Carlo Masters due to injury. 

The 20-year-old Alcaraz, who has two Grand Slam titles in his career, stated in a post on his social media account, "I have been trying to recover from an injury to my right arm, but it was not possible. See you next year."

Alcaraz reached the championship last month at another masters tournament, Indian Wells.

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal had also previously withdrawn from the Monte Carlo Masters tournament due to injury.
