Cenk Tosun: 'There is some movement in the team, at least'

Beşiktaş will host Belgian side Club Brugge tomorrow in the 5th match of the UEFA Europa Conference League Group D. Beşiktaş player Cenk Tosun made statements at the press conference held before the match.

Stating that they want to win the match, Cenk Tosun said, "We will play against a very strong opponent tomorrow. I think I can say they are the best team in the group. They challenged us a lot in the first match. We had earned a good point there. We would have liked to continue our contention, but unfortunately we have been eliminated. We want to go out tomorrow and hopefully win in front of our fans. We have won our last two matches. We want to continue this. As our coach said, we want to catch a winning streak. Hopefully, we want to win tomorrow with a good performance," he said.

Expressing that they made good use of the international break, Tosun said, "We worked very well during the international break. I can say it was good for us. The concentration within the team continues in a very good way. I think we showed this with the two victories we achieved in the last two matches. As you said, we would have liked to continue in this competition. Beşiktaş is a club that always has ambitions. It is a team that always has ambitions in the biggest tournaments. Unfortunately, we will not be able to continue in this competition. As I said, our concentration is 100 percent. We prepared for tomorrow's match. Our coaches gave the necessary instructions. We want to show them on the field tomorrow, hopefully," he said.

Stating that they lost very bad points in Europe, the national player said, "I can say that we had some unlucky matches. The Lugano match we played at home comes to mind. It was a match we were definitely going to win. It was a match we started 2-0 ahead, and then unfortunately we got a red card and the match turned around... Of course, it didn't suit us. We shouldn't have given that match away. Likewise, the Bodo match was a match where we didn't play well. Unfortunately, we couldn't win there. We lost very bad points in Europe. We experienced a lack of concentration. I attribute it to those. Now we will continue in two competitions. For us, there are only the league and the cup. We will push for the top spots there as well. We want to go as far as we can in the Turkish Cup and lift the trophy," he said.
