Championship celebration on the road: Kocaelispor fans went to the team's hotel late at night

After Boluspor defeated Fatih Karagümrük in the Trendyol 1st League, Kocaelispor mathematically guaranteed their promotion to the Super League. A group of fans celebrated by going to the hotel where the team was staying in Istanbul for their upcoming match.

Following Boluspor's victory over Fatih Karagümrük and Erzurumspor's loss to İstanbulspor in the 35th week of the Trendyol 1st League, league leaders Kocaelispor guaranteed their promotion to the Trendyol Super League one day earlier than planned.

Upon receiving the news from Bolu, the people of Kocaeli poured into the streets. Fans, who did not want to wait for the planned celebrations scheduled for today (Sunday) after the Esenler Erokspor match, grabbed their green-and-black flags, put on their jerseys, and gathered in the city square to begin the festivities.

The Kocaelispor championship squad, who were in a hotel in Istanbul for their away match against Esenler Erokspor, were able to share in the fans' joy via a live connection. However, a group of Kocaelispor fans who did not want to celebrate apart from the team went to the hotel where the team was staying in Bağcılar, Istanbul, after the championship news broke. They lit flares, chanted slogans, and sang anthems to invite the team outside.

When the players came out of the hotel, they celebrated their Super League promotion together for minutes.

Fans and players enjoyed the moment together by chanting slogans such as "We have only one cause, we will never give up on you," "This is not Basra, this is the Gulf of İzmit," and "My champion Kocaeli, ask whatever you want from me. If you want, let us decorate every corner with flags," while singing team anthems.
