As Real Madrid prepares to face Borussia Dortmund in the FIFA Club World Cup, the team's young player Arda Güler and head coach Xabi Alonso made significant statements to the Spanish press.
Speaking about the tasks and expectations assigned to him, Arda Güler said, "I really enjoy playing in midfield. Xabi Alonso wants me to play in the number 10 position, to be more involved in the game, and to lead the team. I want to take on this role. Playing behind two or three forwards makes me feel comfortable, and I take great pleasure when I touch the ball."
Head coach Xabi Alonso expressed his confidence in Arda Güler, stating, "Instead of reacting to Arda, we are trying to support him. When you position yourself correctly, you can get involved in duels earlier without needing physicality. Arda needs to go through this process. It is time to invest in his development.
