Confession about Icardi from former Fenerbahçe executive

Former Fenerbahçe executive Selahattin Baki drew attention with his statements on the LÜE TV YouTube channel. Baki made a striking confession regarding the transfer process of Samet Akaydın, who moved to Fenerbahçe from Adana Demirspor, stating that Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus exerted significant pressure for this transfer to happen. Baki said that Jesus used clear expressions to the management, saying, "If you don't sign Samet, I will leave."

ICARDI WAS OFFERED TO FENERBAHÇE, BUT...

Another notable statement regarding Mauro Icardi being offered to Fenerbahçe concerned his transfer to Galatasaray. Baki said, "Mauro Icardi was first and officially offered to us, this is certain. However, we did not want Icardi. The technical staff and management did not find him suitable due to his lifestyle." Stating that Fenerbahçe rejected the offer from PSG officials, Baki emphasized that they only communicated with Icardi's lawyer once and that no offer was made regarding the transfer. Baki noted that when they learned Icardi would go to Galatasaray, they only made a phone call to the lawyer to get information.

Selahattin Baki revealed that Nicolo Zaniolo, who made headlines with his transfer to Galatasaray, was also offered to Fenerbahçe. Baki said that he went to Milan alone for Zaniolo's transfer and met with Zaniolo's lawyer. He stated that although Fenerbahçe considered making a high offer for Zaniolo with a 2 million Euro difference, the President did not look favorably upon this offer. Expressing that the President was not comfortable and did not approve of such a transfer, Baki said that in the end, Zaniolo transferred to Galatasaray.
