Following the departure of manager Rıza Çalımbay, Beşiktaş has reached the final stages of its search for a new head coach. The black-and-white management, which has focused primarily on foreign candidates, has reached an agreement in principle with French manager Bruno Genesio.
Beşiktaş plans to bring the 57-year-old manager to Istanbul within a few days to sign the contract, with the goal of having him lead the team for the Kasımpaşa match, which will be played at Dolmabahçe on Friday, January 5, at 20:00, as part of the 19th week of the Süper Lig.
Genesio, who managed the French Ligue 1 team Olympique Lyonnais between the 2015-2016 and 2018-2019 seasons, Beijing Guoan of the Chinese Super League from 2019-2020 to 2020-2021, and most recently Rennes in France from 2020-2021 to 2023-2024, is expected to sign a 1.5+1 year contract with the black-and-whites.
