Former football player Nihat Kahveci and his ex-wife Pınar Kaşgören have ended up in court. Kaşgören requested protective measures, alleging that her ex-husband had subjected their children to psychological abuse through insults, and submitted messages Kahveci had sent her as evidence. The court issued a restraining order, ruling that the famous footballer must not approach or communicate with his children for a period of two months.

Nihat Kahveci and Pınar Kaşgören divorced by mutual agreement in 2014. Custody of their two children was granted to the mother. Tensions have flared up once again between the former spouses. Through her lawyer, Kaşgören applied to the Bakırköy Family Court to request a restraining order against her ex-husband, Nihat Kahveci. According to a report by Günaydın, the petition submitted to the court stated that the father, Nihat Kahveci, systematically subjected the children to psychological abuse and harmed their pedagogical development through expressions containing insults, humiliation, and severe profanity.

MESSAGES SUBMITTED TO THE COURT

The petition highlighted that in the WhatsApp messages included, the father used expressions toward the children such as "You are stupid, liar, God will strike you, you liar just like your mother, you will go to hell, money-grubbing child." It was emphasized that these expressions negatively affected the children's personality development and caused serious psychological and pedagogical harm.

The petition stated that the children no longer wish to see their father, do not feel safe in his presence, and live in fear of physical violence. Noting that deep wounds have been opened in the children's mental development, the petition requested that Kahveci be removed from the children's environment and that he be prohibited from disturbing his ex-wife through any communication channel.

WILL NOT BE ABLE TO APPROACH WITHIN 500 METERS

The court ruled that, given the understanding that Kahveci had engaged in threats of violence, insults, and humiliating words and behaviors toward his children, he must not approach within 500 meters of locations such as the children's residence, school, or workplace.

Furthermore, the court ruled that the famous footballer must not approach the children's relatives or personal spaces, must not damage their belongings, must not make contact with the children through any means of communication, and that these measures shall remain in effect for two months.

WILL FACE IMPRISONMENT IF HE VIOLATES THE ORDER

The court also stated that if these measures are not complied with, coercive imprisonment may be applied for each violated act. It was decided that the order be served to the father, Nihat Kahveci, in person by law enforcement officers.
