Ertan Zeybek, who has taken over as president of Adana Demirspor and is also the president of the Şimşekler Group Supporters Association, made comprehensive assessments regarding the club's financial situation and future plans. Stating that significant changes have taken place in the club's management and that the club has now passed into the control of the fans, Zeybek shared the details of the administrative process.
Zeybek stated that the process of taking over the shares of Adana Demirspor Sportif Yatırım AŞ and Adana Demirspor Futbol AŞ from Ali Sancak has been successfully completed. "After a 3-4 month process, we completed the share transfers and had the registration procedures carried out. As of today, Adana Demirspor Sportif Yatırım AŞ, Adana Demirspor Futbol AŞ, and the Adana Demirspor Football Club Association are in the hands of the fans. I and Mustafa Kemal Üstüner, President of the North Goal Stand Şimşekler Group Supporters Association, have taken over all company shares," he said.
Expressing the weight of the responsibility they have undertaken in financial terms, Zeybek said, "Our goal is to keep Adana Demirspor alive and to continue our path together. The closure of the club would not make anyone happy. By explaining this to our city, we aim to get the team back on its feet with our people and our community. After the end of the season, a general assembly will be held in May, paving the way for a new administration," he stated.
NEW CAMPAIGN TO REDUCE CLUB DEBT
Announcing that the "Long Live Demirspor" campaign, which was launched last year to reduce Adana Demirspor's debts, has been extended for another year, Ertan Zeybek stated that the fans will continue to support this process without interruption. Pointing out that the amount accumulated in the campaign can only be used for the payment of club debts under the supervision of the governor's office, Zeybek said, "It is not possible to use it for any purpose other than debt anyway. For this reason, the campaign offers a completely transparent structure that the community can support with peace of mind," he said.
Stating that the current debt burden is around 25 million Euros, Zeybek also noted that this amount increases daily with interest. However, stating that they believe the 10 million Euros in the club's treasury can be used to close a large portion of the debt, Zeybek said, "90 percent of the debt can be resolved through negotiation and mutual dialogue. We have the chance to minimize the current debt by sitting at the table with creditors and sharing the fans' resources and the funds collected," he explained.
Underlining that they want to bring a new management approach to the club, Zeybek said, "In the past, there were problems with the seriousness of those who wanted to take over the club. Now, the only interlocutor is the club's fans. We have taken this important step to pave the way for anyone who wants to invest and manage the club. Adana Demirspor will continue to be the city's most valuable brand. Our club, which has stood tall since 1940, will continue to exist with its dynamics from now on. Everyone will take responsibility for the future of the club," he assessed.
Adana Demirspor, which finished the season in the 1st League with -40 points, had already mathematically confirmed its relegation from the league earlier.
