Defending champion Galatasaray cruises to victory in Erzurum

In the opening match of the second week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, Galatasaray defeated Erzurumspor FK 4-0 away from home. In the match played at Erzurum Kazım Karabekir Stadium, the yellow-reds took control of the game early with goals found in the first half.

The goals that brought victory to Galatasaray were scored by Roland Sallai in the 12th minute, Yunus Akgün in the 20th minute, and Victor Osimhen in the 45th and 80th minutes. Osimhen became one of the defining figures of the match with his two goals and his contribution to Yunus Akgün's goal.

The visiting team took the lead with Sallai in the 12th minute following a corner kick taken by Gabriel Sara. In the 20th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error, Galatasaray's Yunus Akgün sent the ball into the net after a cross from Osimhen, extending the lead to two.

In the final part of the first half, Osimhen controlled the ball that goalkeeper Orbanic could not clear following a back pass in the Erzurumspor FK defense, and brought the score to 3-0 with a shot from around the penalty arc. The Nigerian striker appeared on the scene once again in the 80th minute to determine the final result of the match.

With this result, Galatasaray secured its first win of the season and increased its points to 4. Erzurumspor FK, on the other hand, finished the second week without any points. In the third week of the league, Galatasaray will host Göztepe, while Erzurumspor FK will travel to face Gençlerbirliği.

Lesley Ugochukwu, who joined the squad during the summer transfer window, also made his first Süper Lig appearance for the yellow-reds in the match. Ugochukwu entered the game in the 66th minute, replacing Mario Lemina.
