A new claim has emerged regarding the future of Lucas Torreira at Galatasaray. While it is suggested that the Uruguayan midfielder wants to continue his career in another country, it has been stated that the yellow-red management and coaching staff are preparing to hold a private meeting with the player.

South American journalist Sebastian Giovanelli claimed that Torreira has instructed his agent to initiate the departure process. The report states that the physical assault incident he experienced in Istanbul was a factor in the 30-year-old footballer's decision.

It was stated that Torreira was physically assaulted at a shopping mall in Istanbul on May 12, and that the perpetrator's release after the attack, followed by subsequent behavior targeting the player's driver, caused discomfort for the Uruguayan footballer.

Following the incident, it was noted that Galatasaray executives Maruf Güneş and Abdullah Kavukcu offered to assign two bodyguards to Torreira. It was further alleged that although the player, who went on vacation in June, initially decided to stay with the team, he has struggled to adjust to the departures of his close friends Fernando Muslera and Mauro Icardi.
