Departure at Trabzonspor: Reported to the KAP

Trabzonspor has released a statement regarding the contract status of Thomas Meunier. In the statement made by the burgundy-blue team to the KAP, it was stated that Thomas Meunier's contract was unilaterally terminated by the player and that legal proceedings regarding this termination have begun.

The statement read, "The professional football player contract between our club and professional footballer Thomas Andre Meunier, with a start date of 07.02.2024 and an end date of 30.06.2025, has been unilaterally terminated by Thomas Andre Meunier. Legal proceedings have been initiated against all relevant parties, primarily Thomas Andre Meunier, regarding the termination carried out by the player."

STATEMENT FROM ERTUĞRUL DOĞAN

Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan had announced in a broadcast he attended today that Thomas Meunier wanted to leave the team and had unilaterally terminated his contract.

Doğan said the following regarding the matter, "We had included a clause in the contract due to family reasons. We would have shown understanding if he were to transfer to a team in the region where his family lives. There was a condition here as well: whoever the team he agrees with is, they would contact Trabzonspor beforehand, and Trabzonspor would make its plans accordingly. An email arrived at our club 5 minutes before the deadline for this clause expired. He told us that he had unilaterally ended his agreement. Following this incident, we informed our lawyers to exercise all our legal rights. We are filing a lawsuit against the club he is going to. It is impossible for him to wear the Trabzonspor jersey again."
