Shane Larkin, one of the key figures of Anadolu Efes, has announced that he is ending his 7-year national team career. Following the second-place finish against Germany in the final of the European Basketball Championship, Larkin announced that he is bidding farewell to the national team.

In a statement on his social media account, Larkin emphasized how valuable the years he spent in Turkey have been for him. Here is Larkin's emotional message:

“7 years ago, I came to Turkey with no expectations. It was just another stop where I went to play the game I love. 7 years later, this place has become my second home. Your acceptance and support mean more than words can describe. The love and support we received from the entire country is far more valuable than the gold medal that was our main goal. I would like to thank my teammates who became my brothers, our coaches, the management, and everyone who contributed to this journey. It was an honor for me to step onto the court with 'Turkey' written on my chest. I will be one of you forever and I love you from the deepest part of my heart. Thank you, Turkey.”
