A striking claim regarding the derby bonus has emerged at Beşiktaş, which defeated Fenerbahçe away from home. Sports commentator Mehmet Arslan, based on his conversation with Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı, explained that team captain Orkun Kökçü was influential in determining the bonus amount.

Speaking on the Libre Sports YouTube channel, Arslan reported that Adalı went down to the locker room after the match. According to Arslan's account, the Beşiktaş management had initially set the derby bonus at 1 million Euros.

Arslan stated that Serdal Adalı brought up the idea of increasing the bonus to 1.5 million Euros, but Orkun Kökçü found this figure too high. Allegedly, Kökçü expressed his opinion that the bonus should remain at 1 million Euros.

Mehmet Arslan described the process in the following words: “I went down to the locker room after the match. We had set the derby bonus at 1 million Euros. I said let it be 1.5 million Euros. Orkun suggested that 1.5 million Euros was too much and that we should make it 1 million Euros.”
