Details of the Super Lig broadcasting tender won by Qatari-owned beIN Sports revealed! How will the payment plan work?

Qatari-owned beIN Media Group, which won the broadcasting tender for the Super Lig and the 1st League with a bid of 182 million dollars, will pay half of this amount at the current exchange rate, while the other half will be paid at a fixed rate of 31.3 Turkish Lira.

According to the tender specifications, the broadcaster will be subject to the current exchange rate for half of the amount it has committed to pay, which is a 91 million dollar obligation.

For the remaining 91 million dollar portion of the broadcasting fee, the exchange rate of 31.3 lira, which was the rate on March 2, 2024, the day the bid was submitted, will be used as the basis.

According to the agreement, if a 10 million dollar payment is made in November 2024 during the season, 5 million dollars of this payment will be made at that day's exchange rate, while the remaining 5 million dollars will be processed at the 31.3 lira rate.

The determined rate of 31.3 lira will be increased by the inflation rate for the following season.

HOW WILL THE REVENUE DISTRIBUTION BE DETERMINED?

The Clubs Association will decide how the broadcasting revenue, which has risen to 182 million dollars as a result of the new tender, will be distributed among the teams, the federation, and the lower leagues.

For the last 7 seasons, the sharing of broadcasting revenue has first allocated a 4 percent slice to the federation and an 18 percent slice to the lower leagues. The remaining amount was distributed as follows:

• - 37 percent equally to Super Lig teams as a participation fee
• - 46 percent based on the teams' performance
• - 11 percent among clubs that have won championships in past years
• - 6 percent among the teams that finished in the top 6 at the end of the season.
• - If the criteria do not change, the reward for a win will be approximately 6 million lira

If the Clubs Association does not make any changes to the broadcasting revenue distribution, the teams' earnings will increase by 113 to 141 percent.

Super Lig teams will each put at least 86.5 million lira into their coffers as a participation fee in the new season, even if there is no increase in the exchange rate.

Teams will earn 5.98 million lira for every win and 2.99 million lira for every draw.

Clubs that have won championships in past years will receive a reward of 7.18 million lira for each championship.

The championship bonus for the team that wins the title at the end of the season is 86 million lira.
