MLS side Columbus Crew has announced that Diego Rossi has transferred to the Mexican club Monterrey. It was stated that the Uruguayan footballer has signed a 3-year contract with his new club.
Rossi's transfer also means income for Fenerbahçe. The yellow-navy club had included a sell-on clause in the agreement during the player's transfer to Columbus Crew.
In a previous statement made by Fenerbahçe to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), it was stated: "The solidarity contribution fee that will arise in accordance with FIFA instructions is included in the transfer fee. Furthermore, in the event of the player's future transfer to another club, 15% of the transfer fee that Columbus Crew SC will receive will be paid to our club as a share from the subsequent sale."
According to a report in The Athletic, Monterrey will pay Columbus Crew an 8 million dollar transfer fee for Rossi. Based on this figure, 1.2 million dollars is expected to enter Fenerbahçe's coffers as their 15% share.
Fenerbahçe had previously announced that they would receive a 5 million 630 thousand dollar transfer fee and 1 million dollars in bonuses for the transfer of Diego Martin Rossi Marachlian to Columbus Crew. With this new transfer, the yellow-navy club will have generated additional income from the player.
