The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has announced that it has launched a disciplinary investigation into Baran Eraslan, who has ended his refereeing career.

The TFF issued a statement regarding the resignation of Baran Eraslan, an assistant referee from the İzmir region who officiated in the 1st League. The statement noted that the social media post made by Baran Eraslan and his remarks regarding the manner in which he ended his refereeing career do not reflect the truth.

The statement is as follows:

"In the assignments made via the digital appointment system for the 21st week of the 1st League, the individual in question was assigned as an assistant referee for the Ümraniyespor-Bodrumspor match, and this was communicated to him on February 1, 2024. However, the aforementioned assistant referee stated on February 2, 2024, that he could not attend the match due to a health issue (injury) and submitted his medical report. Taking this excuse and document into account, his assignment was canceled, and another assistant referee was appointed via the digital appointment system. Today, his resignation letter stating that he has quit refereeing has also been received. A disciplinary investigation has been launched against the individual regarding his social media post."
