Transfer statement from Domenico Tedesco: There could be incoming players

Fenerbahçe head coach Domenico Tedesco, whose team will continue their journey in the play-offs after a 1-1 away draw against FCSB in the 8th and final week of the UEFA Europa League, responded to the question, "Will there be new players playing in Romania at Fenerbahçe one day?" by saying, "There are good players in Romania, and there could be players coming to Fenerbahçe. We played against Romania with the Belgian national team. You have a lot of good players. Draguş, for example, is a good player; he was playing at Eyüpspor."

Fenerbahçe drew 1-1 away against FCSB in the 8th and final week of the UEFA Europa League. The yellow-navy club, which will continue its journey in the play-offs, will face either Nottingham Forest or Viktoria Plzen as potential opponents.

Speaking to TRT Spor after the match, head coach Domenico Tedesco stated the following:

"We played a bad match. We tried to control the game at the beginning. You can finish these types of matches by scoring the second goal in the 30th minute. We lost the ball too much in this match and made mistakes. The opponent didn't want it more than us, but we invited them into the game. Of course, advancing to the next round is a good thing. The 8 matches were not easy. We played against Zagreb, Aston Villa, and Stuttgart. The league phase is over, and we are looking ahead. The role I assigned to Yiğit Efe Demir is the same as İsmail Yüksek's. I took İsmail out because there was a possibility of a red card, and I put him in. I am satisfied with Yiğit Efe's performance.

"I find the 1-1 result normal"

We played very slowly and lost the ball a lot. The opponent started with a desire to wait for us in the back. We controlled the game and created positions, but we couldn't capitalize on them. In the first half, we lost the ball a lot and gave the opponent counter-attack chances. This continued in the second half as well. The passes we made were not sharp. Considering everything I've listed, I find the 1-1 result normal. The opponent also had chances to score.

"The important thing was to advance to the next round"

In some matches, we didn't have our number 6, and in others, we didn't have our striker. We had problems with our full-backs. Now we will renew the list. This is something we want. We played against Viktoria Plzen, and it wasn't easy. When we are at full strength, we can beat anyone. We can beat anyone at home as well. Nottingham Forest is an English team, and if you play against English teams, you can experience physical difficulties. It doesn't matter who comes. The important thing was to advance to the next round.

"Fenerbahçe is different when Alvarez is there"

There was nothing that surprised us about FCSB. They found counter-attacks, yes. Fenerbahçe is different when Edson Alvarez is the defensive midfielder, and different when he is not. It is different when Milan Skriniar is there, and different when he is not.

"İsmail Yüksek is a good player, but his characteristics are different"

When I arrived, I felt the need for a defensive midfielder, and we played 17 matches without one. İsmail Yüksek is a good player, but his characteristics are different. No matter how good the players are, if you lose the ball this much, the ball gets through. We conceded attacks from the balls we lost ourselves."

"There could be players coming to Fenerbahçe"

Responding to a journalist's question, "Datcu, Moldavan, and Sabin Ilie played for Fenerbahçe. Will there be new players playing in Romania at Fenerbahçe one day?", Tedesco excited the fans. Tedesco said, "There are good players in Romania, and there could be players coming to Fenerbahçe. We played against Romania with the Belgian national team. You have a lot of good players. Draguş, for example, is a good player; he was playing at Eyüpspor. There are many players. Also, it was not easy to beat Romania in the European Championship either."

Responding to a reporter's question, "There was tension in the dressing room corridor at halftime, were you able to see what happened?", Tedesco said:

"I didn't see what happened; I was in the room at that time, examining a few positions with the analysts. I heard voices and went there to bring my team inside. There were no problems afterward. I don't know exactly what happened regarding the incident; nothing happened on the field either."
