Drunk minibus driver in Edirne: "It's a very good thing my license was confiscated"
A minibus driver who got behind the wheel while intoxicated in Edirne was caught following reports from passengers. The driver, whose license was confiscated, said, "It's a very good thing my license was confiscated. I'll go work at a tea house. A person who doesn't drink alcohol cannot drive these vehicles."

A minibus driver who was operating a vehicle while intoxicated in Edirne was caught following a report.
According to the information obtained, some passengers who boarded the minibus with license plate 22 M 0005, belonging to the Edirne Public Transportation System (ETUS) operating on the route between the bus terminal and the city center, suspected the driver was intoxicated and called the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Taking precautions upon the report, teams stopped the minibus driven by H.K. 10 kilometers later. It was determined by police teams that H.K. had a blood alcohol level of 1.45 promille. H.K., whose license was confiscated and who was fined, was taken into custody by the teams to have his statement taken. The minibus was handed over to the owners who arrived at the scene by traffic police.

In his statement to journalists, driver H.K. said, "I didn't do anything wrong, I didn't treat anyone wrong. I didn't violate anyone's rights. I treated people as properly as I could. I take this every evening. I've been in this business for 14 years, I haven't harmed anyone's life. I treat people so well, I can't even describe it. It's a very good thing my license was confiscated. I'll go work at a tea house. A person who doesn't drink alcohol cannot drive these vehicles. I'm saying this openly."
