Dursun Özbek and his administration acquitted at Galatasaray

At the Galatasaray Sports Club Annual Ordinary General Assembly Meeting, the activities of the board of directors for the period of June 1, 2023 - May 31, 2024, were acquitted by a majority vote.

The Galatasaray Sports Club Annual Ordinary General Assembly Meeting was held at the Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Center.

During the general assembly meeting, the activities of President Dursun Özbek and the board of directors between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024, were presented for acquittal. The activities of the board of directors were acquitted by a majority vote.

In the general assembly, the vote held for the supervisory board also resulted in an acquittal by a majority vote.

DURSUN ÖZBEK: NO ONE SHOULD HAVE ANY CONCERNS ABOUT THE FLORYA PROJECT

Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek stated that no one should have any concerns regarding the Florya project, saying, "We are carrying your trust. Do not worry at all. My colleagues and I are doing our best to protect it even more than our own property."

The Galatasaray Sports Club Annual Ordinary General Assembly Meeting continues at the Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Center. Following the speeches by members at the meeting, Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek took the podium to make statements.

Expressing that the Florya land has attracted everyone's attention, Özbek said, "It is a project that has caught the attention of both our general assembly members and our rivals. My colleagues and I have put in a lot of effort to bring the Florya project to Galatasaray. 21 decares were Galatasaray's deeded property. Later, we received your approval for the projects we would develop on the remaining 40-plus decares. It is a project that is developing with your approval. No one should have any concerns. We developed a new project thinking that it is difficult for Florya to host football, in order to bring a more perfect, more modern facility on a larger plot of land to replace Florya. After we leave there, Florya will remain there as a plot of land. You gave us the necessary powers within the framework of re-evaluating the existing land we have. What we need to do is trust the management. One issue is very important. We are carrying your trust. Do not worry at all. My colleagues and I are doing everything necessary in this regard to protect it even more than our own property," he said.

President Özbek also stated that he is personally following the issue regarding the black-market ticket incident.

Responding to criticisms regarding the Kemerburgaz Metin Oktay Facilities, Dursun Özbek said, "We had to move to Kemerburgaz much earlier. The two trigger each other. It is necessary to move to Kemerburgaz for the Florya project to begin. We are doing everything to finish the Florya project. Within the framework of the economic conditions our country is in, you encounter unexpected events from time to time.

Without making this an issue, there is a much more active organization there right now. I don't want it to be jinxed. I felt embarrassed to you on the dates I gave before. It is not a very long time. We are planning two things. Florya is in a very important place for us. In a very short time, we will hold a farewell party there. Simultaneously, we will hold a hello party for Kemerburgaz," he said.

Emphasizing that they are doing their best to serve Galatasaray, Özbek concluded his words by saying, "Of course, we have mistakes. We do not want to embarrass you. The people we work with are people who have grown up with Galatasaray. We are carrying out our work meticulously with this awareness. We have listened to your criticisms. We have taken note of the criticisms. Do not worry at all. The general assembly is our greatest organ. The decisions made by the general assembly are in no way debatable.
