Dursun Özbek announces Icardi's future

Galatasaray celebrated its 26th championship with a ceremony held at RAMS Park on May 15. Following the celebrations, President Dursun Özbek and the yellow-red executives took the championship trophy to the Galatasaray Association building in Beşiktaş, in line with tradition.

Making statements there, Özbek spoke about Mauro Icardi's future. Özbek said, "We celebrated our 26th championship. We have a meeting with Icardi, hopefully we will meet. Icardi is a player we love, our icon. He has contributed a lot to Galatasaray. Therefore, we will meet with him."

"WE WAITED BUT THEY DID NOT COME"

Evaluating the fact that Turkish Football Federation officials did not attend the celebrations, Özbek said, "I don't know, they didn't come. We waited, but they didn't come."

Addressing the claims regarding Lucas Torreira, the Galatasaray President said, "Torreira is our player, why would he leave?"

NEW GOAL: 27TH CHAMPIONSHIP

Making statements regarding the new season's goals, Özbek stated that they have started working for the 27th championship and said, "Our goal is the 27th championship. We have already started our preparations. Hopefully, we will cross the finish line this season as well, celebrate first in our stadium, and then bring the trophy to our home, our association. That is why we are here today. The association is everything to us, it is the birthplace of Galatasaray. We will share our happiness with our brothers and sisters here."

Galatasaray Association Chairman of the Board Metin Sinan Aslan emphasized that bringing the trophy to the association is a tradition, stating, "It is a tradition for the trophy to come to the association. Our president honored us and brought the trophy here again. We are very happy. Hopefully, we will be more successful in Europe next year and Dursun brother will crown his presidency."
