Dursun Özbek: Everyone is jealous of Galatasaray
The meeting, held at Galatasaray High School under the chairmanship of Council of Trustees President Aykutalp Derkan, was attended by the yellow-red club's president Dursun Özbek, as well as members of the board and the council.

During the meeting, certificates of achievement were presented to the players, technical staff, and management of the women's volleyball team, which won the CEV Cup. Members of the council gave the volleyball players a standing ovation as the certificates were awarded. Additionally, the men's water polo team, which reached the championship in the European Challenger Cup Final 8 tournament, was celebrated at the meeting. The water polo team players were unable to attend to receive their certificates due to a match.
Galatasaray Club Board Member and Treasurer İbrahim Hatipoğlu gave a presentation at the meeting regarding the 9-month financial report of Galatasaray Sportif AŞ and its subsidiaries for the period of June 1, 2025 - February 28, 2026. Subsequently, council member Mete İkiz delivered his presentation titled "A comparative evaluation of broadcasting rights revenues of the Super Lig and leading European leagues."
The yellow-red club's president, Dursun Özbek, stated in his remarks following the speeches by council members that they have made very significant real estate investments, saying, "Outside of our sporting activities, we have made exactly 75 million euros in real estate investments. We completed the Galatasaray Island and the facilities in Kemerburgaz. We are building the facilities in Kalamış. We are finishing our building in Mecidiyeköy. As the president of Galatasaray Club, I speak with many people. Today, everyone is jealous of the level Galatasaray has reached. A little more support needs to be given to the management. I request this from everyone. We are also carrying out our project in Riva. The project in Florya will start soon. We have started construction for the academy building in Kemerburgaz."
Özbek stated that they want to bring Galatasaray to the best possible position and said the following:
"If I hadn't made 75 million euros in real estate investments, we wouldn't have any bank debt, but we needed this. We needed institutionalization and facilities.
We are making real estate investments. Within the framework of the projects we carry out, we sometimes have to borrow.
Sometimes we use our own resources. Borrowing is not a disaster. We provided mortgages.
We have nearly 60 apartments in Mecidiyeköy. Previously, these were mortgaged under the agreement we made with the Banks Association. We transferred this mortgage to another credit institution.
The mortgage amount provided by the club in the Banks Association agreement was 23-24 billion liras. By exiting the Banks Association agreement, we have cleared all these mortgages."
