Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek, who came to the Kuşadası district of Aydın for a series of visits, was a guest at a meeting organized by members of the Kuşadası Galatasaray Supporters Association, alongside Kuşadası District Governor İbrahim Keklik and Mayor Ömer Günel.

Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek answered questions from association members and Galatasaray fans.

"WE WILL PROTECT THE TEAM'S CORE AND MAKE TARGETED TRANSFERS"

Making a statement regarding the policy the yellow-red team is following in external transfers, Dursun Özbek said, “We will hold a meeting on the subject on Thursday. We have some deficiencies. We are specifically considering making transfers for the number 2, 8, and 10 positions. We are also in talks with domestic players for wing transfers. Since restrictions have been introduced on foreign transfers, we also have players we need to sell. It will be a difficult year in terms of transfers. The fact that the European Championship is ongoing has also slowed down transfers. Everyone is planning to make transfers based on player performances in the tournament. We are continuing our contacts as well. We will protect the team's core and make targeted transfers. We will become champions again next year by making additions without disrupting the team's skeleton,” he said.

Touching upon the national team's final group match against Czechia in the 2024 European Championship on Wednesday during the meeting, Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek said, “Those managing the national team are currently being criticized. Let's not do that. Because our national team will play a very important match against Czechia and they need morale. For this reason, I think we should wait for the result to be obtained. I wish success to all our players playing in our national team from here. They need to be in high spirits to make us proud. I hope we will get a successful result in the Czechia match and advance to the next round.”

Reminding that when he was elected to office at Galatasaray, he first promised to fix the team's financial structure, Özbek stated, “6 years ago, I said, 'Let's get out of the debt burden, let's achieve a sustainable financial structure, and sustainable sporting success will follow.' In this sense, we will have exited the Banks Association within the next few months, and Galatasaray's financial structure will become excellent.
