Dursun Özbek: We are preparing to achieve the results we want in the Champions League

The "26th Championship Night," organized by the Bodrum 1905 Galatasaray Supporters Association in the Bodrum district of Muğla, brought the yellow-red community together. The night, attended by Bodrum District Governor Ali Sırmalı, Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, Galatasaray Club President Dursun Özbek, Galatasaray Head Coach Okan Buruk, former Galatasaray head coach Fatih Terim, and players Uğurcan Çakır, Abdülkerim Bardakcı, and Yunus Akgün, celebrated the 26th championship while also sharing goals for the upcoming season.

At the event held at a hotel in the district, yellow-red fans celebrated the championship with anthems and chants. Before the program, Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek, Head Coach Okan Buruk, Fatih Terim, and goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır answered questions from members of the press.

"We are keeping our team from last year"

Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek said, "Today, we will celebrate our 26th championship with Galatasaray fans in Bodrum. Hopefully, we are also preparing for a great season. Or rather, these are the preparations for the 27th championship, so I want my brothers and sisters here to enjoy celebrating the 26th championship to the fullest. We are keeping our team from last year. Together with our coach, technical staff, and scouting team, we are making preparations to resolve whatever deficiencies we have during this transfer window and achieve the results we want in the Champions League."

"Galatasaray is a club accustomed to great success"

Former A National Team and Galatasaray Head Coach Fatih Terim said, "As a community, we are very happy. We congratulate our president, our board of directors, our coach, his staff, and our players—our 'lion cubs'—above all. With the great support of our fans, they achieved a very beautiful finish in complete unity. I hope it continues; Galatasaray Club is worthy of all of this and is a club accustomed to great success. I hope our successes continue both in Europe and in Turkey," he said.

"We know our deficiencies"

Galatasaray Head Coach Okan Buruk said, "Thank God, four consecutive championships. It is very important and very valuable for us. As Galatasaray, we are very happy. Our goals do not end. Four consecutive championships, the 5th championship is the goal. Again, records, success in Europe. Hopefully, we will make a great effort to achieve that. We are starting work next week, and then we will prepare for the league. Once the national players return, we will prepare for the league as a full team. Our goals are the same; new season, new excitement. The great Galatasaray fans are always with us. Hopefully, we will continue the same feeling and the same passion. The clubs had a request; we waited for the foreign player rule to be clarified. There was no change regarding this, and we will try to adapt accordingly. There are many players who played in the World Cup. We want to see our squad, renew it, and especially make important additions to the team. We know our deficiencies, but we really want to act a bit more calmly and with foresight this year compared to previous years. Because of the foreign player rule, we don't have much room to maneuver. We want to strengthen our squad, especially through young players and Turkish players. Every transfer is important; sometimes one shouldn't have too high expectations, but as I said, we will try to fix our squad in the strongest way possible together with our president and our board of directors," he stated.

"Hopefully, it will be our destiny to be champions again next year and celebrate here"

Galatasaray goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır said, "It didn't go well for us; we wanted to make our country proud. We couldn't achieve that, and there is sadness about that. That is how we returned to our country. We needed to do more, but we couldn't achieve it. We have the opportunity to make up for this, and hopefully, we will. Hopefully, it will be our destiny to be champions again next year and celebrate here. I hope we can achieve this," he said.

Following the statements, fans took souvenir photos with Dursun Özbek, Okan Buruk, and the players in front of the championship trophy. While artists performed on stage during the night, the 26th championship celebration continued throughout the night accompanied by anthems and chants.
