Egypt advances on penalties

In the 2026 World Cup Round of 32, Egypt and Australia faced off at Dallas Stadium. Egypt took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute with a goal from Emam Ashour in the match officiated by Uruguayan referee Gustavo Tejera.

Egypt secured a 4-2 victory over their opponent in the penalty shootout to advance to the Round of 16.
