While general assembly members showed low participation in the congress held at the Çotanak Stadium Indoor Sports Hall, 89 out of 421 delegates with the right to vote participated in the balloting. As a result of the vote, Eltuğral received 83 votes, while 6 votes were declared invalid.
GİRESUNSPOR'S DEBT HAS BEEN REVEALED
The agenda items were read and submitted to a vote at the congress. The previous club president, Nahid Yamak, and his administration were acquitted both financially and administratively, while the club's total debt was announced as 403 million 92 thousand 750 liras.
In his speech, the outgoing president of Giresunspor, Nahid Yamak, stated, "First of all, I, along with my board of directors, apologize for not being able to bring happiness to Giresunspor fans and for making them experience the pain of the relegations that occurred. I wish the new president success in advance. I have been involved with Giresunspor for 40 years and I will be a supporter of Giresunspor until the end of my life; I forgive my rights, and I hope you forgive yours."
The primary board of directors list for Eltuğral, who ran as the sole candidate in the general assembly and was elected as the new president, includes Bülent Erol, Cihan Demir, Fatih Sakal, Gökhan Kahveci, Hakan Parlakoğlu, Halil Taşhan, İbrahim Güler, Mehmet Yiğit, Mustafa Uzun, Naim Demir, Osman Topal, Önder Söğünmez, Salih Özkan, Tüncer Çimenli, and Zeki Bodur.
"WE TOOK ON THIS DIFFICULT TASK KNOWINGLY"
In his statement, the new club president of the green-and-white team, Emin Eltuğral, said, "I thank you all for being here. We have held our Extraordinary General Assembly. We thank everyone who participated. We have a difficult process ahead of us. We are at a turning point. Hopefully, we will succeed in returning the club to its former successful days. We will put up all the fight we can. Our goal is primarily to keep the team here and to open the transfer window. We have a significant amount of debt. These debts were stated at the congress. We will work with our friends to overcome them. I thank my friends for being with me. We took on this difficult task knowingly, but we will succeed."
