Following the match in which Gençlerbirliği defeated Fenerbahçe 2-1, goalkeeper İrfan Can Eğribayat shared his thoughts on the emotional significance of the game for him and his performance on the pitch.

Playing against his former club, İrfan Can stated that his time at Fenerbahçe holds a special place in his life while emphasizing his professional responsibility. The experienced goalkeeper said, "It was a match with an incredible emotional burden for me. I was very emotional during the game. I spent 4 years at Fenerbahçe, and both of my daughters were born there."

İrfan Can Eğribayat expressed that the mindset he learned at Fenerbahçe was reflected on the pitch, stating, "What we learned at Fenerbahçe is to do justice to the jersey you wear. Even though Fenerbahçe will always be in my heart, I am a Gençlerbirliği athlete. I earn the bread I bring home from Gençlerbirliği. I had to do the best I could."
