Emre Belözoğlu explains the reaction of Fenerbahçe fans! 'Does it suit you?'

MKE Ankaragücü Manager Emre Belözoğlu made statements on the "Daha Daha" program broadcast on TRT Spor.

"I am 43, even though I still feel young. I am grateful to God for granting me a life I have always dreamed of. I have been blessed with a life that exceeds many of the things I dreamed of in my childhood. I am very happy about this. When I look at the big picture, I have a life for which I will be grateful in every way. I am happy. Football is my greatest passion in life after my family. Looking at it that way, I have always felt valuable and lucky. I knew this profession was a great blessing, and it has its own burdens, but as I said, it has been a life for which I will be grateful in every way when looking at the big picture.

There is a great community here. It is a very important and large community with a significant history, founded by students who produced weapons here since the War of Independence, the İmalatı Harbiye. I think it is a very important club when you consider the pressure that the fans put on the pitch. I made my decision after a few meetings. Since the day I arrived, I have loved Ankara and Ankaragücü very much. Expectation and pressure are the emotions that feed me. I am used to struggling with this pressure and a success-oriented life. There is just a process that requires a little patience. Ankaragücü is a club with a legacy, but it is a club with a legacy that needs to be directed correctly. Our path is long; I think we will achieve important things if we are more patient.

If we can make it a team that plays in European Cups when it moves to the 19 Mayıs Stadium, which is the promise we made, there will be no one happier than me. It is an excellent experience for me. I had never worked in Turkey outside of Istanbul. Ankara is a very beautiful city. It has narrow streets, a street culture. Its people are quite naive. I loved Ankara very much. I already love Ankaragücü very much. I think I have made this felt as well. I hope we will experience very beautiful days together. I am happy, I hope we will make people happy there too.

Ankaragücü is a community whose last 20 years have not been as desired. There is a longing for a trophy. I think there should be a philosophy and a method for sustainable success. It is not easy to achieve this in Turkey. You have to be success and winning-oriented in Turkey. I am going with a focus on winning every match to build this. If we can capture that self-confidence, if we can create a team that is used to winning, wants to win, and enjoys it, then I believe Ankaragücü can reach very important places within 3-4 years with the small moves we will make afterwards. Our president's goal is very high. This feeds me, but I am having a realistic dream, of championships, of European cups. Turkey is the only country in the world whose capital city has not been a champion. This can be achieved with me or without me. This requires patience and a resilient will. One needs to be patient. We have been with the team for 40-45 days. Everything is going well. I am satisfied, I am truly happy. I am working very hard with my team to reciprocate the love people show me.

"MANAGEMENT IS DEVELOPING ME"

Management is developing me a lot. I have seen that the game has a psychology that I had not thought about many times when I was an athlete. I empathized, I empathized a lot. Even though I struggled sometimes, I understood more with management what a great psychological war this is.

Everyone sees football players as people who have attended 3-4 universities, received their education, and stepped onto the pitch like that. I don't think people are very fair when they question and judge us. I have lived away from my family for 7-8 months of the year since I was 14. The things that fame brings can sometimes sadden a person. Many of the reactions we show are also due to our emotionality. I don't have a very broad life outside. People are happy to be with me in the environment I am in, I think I am a fun person. I laugh, I listen to their troubles. I think we should always be like that. In Turkey, the equivalent of fame is often just perception; perception always gets ahead of reality. I saw that I could not fight this and that it was an empty dream.

I like to be challenged, I am fed by it. When I went from Galatasaray to Inter, Galatasaray had also made me an offer, but I had already made that decision. I don't really like to go back after making a decision. It was the same when I came to Fenerbahçe. I knew I would get a lot of reactions. My wife also witnessed some things I didn't want on the street. However, it seems we had to experience this too. Galatasaray is now just a team for me and a community that contains valuable people who have contributed to me.

"I AM FENERBAHÇE ITSELF"

During the earthquake process, a question came up: 'Would you like to manage Galatasaray?' There is a place for big talk in Turkey, but I don't think it's the time for big talk right now. At that time, thousands of our people had died in the earthquake, and not wanting to cause another division by talking big, I had given an answer like, 'If it happens, we will evaluate it, it's professional life.' I saw that Galatasaray fans immediately said, 'What are you doing at Galatasaray?' Fenerbahçe fans said, 'Does it suit you? We opened our homes to you.' I would like to see Arda Turan and Selçuk İnan at the head of Galatasaray after Okan Buruk. If I am going to manage a big team in Turkey, I would want it to be Fenerbahçe. If this doesn't happen, it's not the end of the world for me. My biggest dream is to be able to spend the majority of my career in Europe.

Fenerbahçe fans loved me very much, and I loved them very much. Until my last breath, Fenerbahçe will have a different place for me. Unfortunately, some things are forgotten quickly in our country. We played for 8-9 years and were captains. We experienced July 3rd. We did not refrain from fighting on the most difficult day. I am one of the few players who can say that I am Fenerbahçe itself.

When I was leaving Atletico, Simeone said to me, 'Why are you leaving? Stay.' I said, 'I am leaving for Fenerbahçe.' I have been a fanatical Fenerbahçe fan since childhood. Fenerbahçe is not an unfinished story for me, it is life itself.

When I went to Inter, Serie A was the NBA of football. I also made choices and showed performances below my potential in my career. If I had met the Atletico Madrid adventure, which I met at the age of 32, at the age of 22, I would not have returned to Turkey then. I could have easily played in Europe until I was 38."
